The Denver dance scene spans several generations, and a multitude of different sounds have emerged along the way. Beta Nightclub’s talent buyers have taken this into account, so each night of our four-day weekend illuminates a different shade of the musical spectrum.
Future Thursdays // 18+
Global Dance is the most established local name in electronic music events, and Future Thursdays symbolizes the promoter’s longstanding partnership with Beta. On any given Thursday, you can rest assured that the main floor of the club will play host to the most talked-about names in dance music.
Porter Robinson, Benny Benassi, Bonobo, Knife Party and Gareth Emery are but a few who have stood behind the decks after respected Global Dance alumni deliver opening sets.
Gravity Fridays // 18+
It’s no secret that Denver loves bass music. Dubstep may have left as quickly as it came in most cities around the U.S., but around these parts it’s practically a religion. Rather than coming together for a day of rest, though, local bass heads exorcise their demons at Gravity Fridays.
Once a week, headliners like Jauz, Rusko and Pendulum remind the bass-fearing masses exactly what Beta’s Funktion-One subwoofers are capable of. Gravity Fridays symbolizes a joint effort between Beta Nightclub and local promoter Reload Productions.
Superstar Saturdays // 18+
Superstar Saturdays derives its name from Manufactured Superstars, a DJ duo consisting of Beta Nightclub Founder Brad Roulier and his longtime friend, Shawn Sabo. In addition to select Saturdays when Manufactured Superstars themselves top the bill (which make for some of the nightclub’s liveliest occasions), world-class artists from all avenues of dance music routinely top the bill.
The Crystal Method, DJ Dan and Nero are but a few of the artists that have headlined Superstar Saturdays, not to mention pop and hip-hop personalities like Lil Jon and CeeLo Green.
Proper Sundays // 21+
Far be it from Beta Nightclub’s talent buyers to neglect house and techno’s deep roots in the Mile High. A joint effort between Beta and tenured Denver promoter Afterhours Anonymous, Proper Sundays is dedicated to the more sophisticated permutations of the four-four beat – and since its 2015 launch the weekly has become a favorite among Denver’s more tenured industry professionals.
Are the introspective sounds of DJ/producers like Dubfire, Claptone and Chris Liebing more your speed? If so, make sure to include Proper Sundays in your weekend itinerary.
