Beta Asks

POSTED FRI.OCT.31.2014

Beta Asks allows our fans to ask their favorite artists the questions THEY want to know, and here are the top fan questions for Infected Mushroom!

1) Are you excited for your upcoming show here in Denver?

Yes! We LOVE Denver, and its been a while since we played Beta. This venue is one of our favorite intimate spots in the world proper lights & sound! Every time we hit Denver, we feel massive love & support from our fans. Excited to spend Halloween with yall!

2) Will you be making more experimental music like some of the older albums?

Yes, we are always making experimental music. We dont like staying stuck in the same style for too long which is why we are always evolving. Our downtempo tunes in the classic Converting Vegetarians album were very well received, but we havent dabbled in downtempo for quite a while, so now we have been working on putting together a new album of some slower trippy stuff. Stay tuned for that and some other crazy shit in 2015.

3) Whats the transition been like going from analog to digital? Hardware synth to soft synth?

Digital is awesome. Hardware can be quite confining. Digital software allows for more options, flexibility, versatility and more importantly it saves us time to use programs in the box.

4) Favorite 3rd party plugins gear you cant live without?

Omnisphere, Nexus 2, Massive

5) How has the digital age changed the way you play live?

There are many great aspects to the digital age. The instruments we use can be effected in cooler ways, the sound quality has improved drastically, we can easily make changes and updates to older tunes, and we can incorporate new-age visual components to our music which is how we were able to develop our 3D-mapped projection-based sphere performance commonly known as Fungusamongus.

6) Where do you see the future "EDM" going? 5 years? 10?

Hard to say because the scene is quickly changing. There will be more incorporation of electronica into pop music & hip hop, and there will also be a resurgence of quality underground music as the new-breed of young EDM fans grow older and their tastes begin to evolve. Electronic Dance Music is here to stay, it has taken hold of the world. The DJ has become the new rock star so the sky is the limit.
